Well, now we know why the Toronto Raptors waived Dominic McGuire Thursday.
The team has signed playoff veteran swingman Mickael Pietrus. The Frenchman is a veteran of numerous playoff battles in Orlando and Boston. He’ll be the primary back-up to DerMar DeRozan and likely thrive in a Euro-friendly city like Toronto
The team upgraded their 3-point shooting and experience with this move, but defensively it’s a loss. In my opinion, McGuire is one of the better defenders in the league. He just doesn’t get enough minutes to showcase it. He played some big minutes for Mark Jackson in Golden State last year…a potential landing place for him now.

Why didn’t we bring back Barbosa?!
