The franchise player of the Minnesota Timberwolves will be out for a while.
Kevin Love fractured his right hand in a workout Wednesday and will miss 6-8 weeks. The team made the announcement after practice, saying Love broke the third and fourth metacarpals on his shooting hand during a morning workout.
It’s a big blow to the Timberwolves, who already will be without star point guard Ricky Rubio for at least the first six weeks while he recovers from a torn ACL in his left knee.
The team will rely heavily on emerging ‘bigman’ Nikola Pekovic of Montenegro, who blossomed last year starting at center. ‘Pek’ came into training camp this season 15 pounds lighter. Derrick Williams and Andrei Kirilenko (who has been out with a hamstring injury) will also be sliding down to help fill that PF spot.

another lottery trip for the wolves!
I LOVE Kevin. Hes the best bigman in the game and is destined for MVP status.
