Free agent bigman Andray Blatche has been talking to the Brooklyn Nets for over a week……it obviously led somewhere.
Brooklyn has agreed to sign former Wizard PF to a one-year deal for the veteran minimum. This is a win-win for both parties involved…..
Blatche gets to revamp his image and prove he has matured while playing alongside All-Stars in the media capital of the world. The Nets, short on cap space after a summer of spending, get a talented young ‘big’ to back-up both the PF and C spots.
‘AB’ had also been considering a similar offer with the Miami Heat.
Avery Johnson may just have inherited a headache, but it could be well worth the risk. Who knows, maybe one day Kris Humphries will actually leave the NY area.
Extra Shot: Free agent forward Josh Childress will be in Nets training camp as well, with a similar non-guaranteed deal. Both he and Blatche are expected to make the final roster.
