Source: Cavaliers add Corey Belser to staff

July 29, 2012

According to my sources, The Cleveland Cavaliers are adding Corey Belser to their coaching staff.

Belser starred at the University of San Diego. The swingman was cut in Mavericks training camp his rookie year and then went on to play for Olympia Larissa in the Greek League. He finished his playing career with French team Charleville-Mézières after a second ACL surgery.

Corey impressed during the Las Vegas Summer League in working with rookie bigmen like Darko Planinic.

He is likely to serve as special assistant.
