The Philadelphia 76ers got a big road win in overtime Saturday night, but that didn’t stop Doug Collins from venting on his way to the locker room.
Collins was angered by a jump ball call late, with Philly leading 109-106, that allowed the Indiana Pacers a chance to tie the game. Coach was also not allowed to substitute the players he had wanted for the jump.
On the way to the tunnel, following the final buzzer, Doug shouted expletives at referee Zack Zarba and had to be restrained by assistant coach Michael Curry. NBA executive Stu Jackson is looking into the incident.
There will likely only be a monetary penalty against the Sixers coach as the team tries to sneak into the 7th spot out east.
…..this isn’t the first time Zach Zarba has cost the Sixers this season.
UPDATE: NBA fines Doug Collins $15,000 for “verbal abuse of officials.”
