Josh Smith Requests Trade

March 8, 2012

Josh Smith has reportedly asked the Atlanta Hawks for a trade, according to the AJC. This isn’t shocking considering that Josh made a similar request this past offseason, as his name was once again was tossed around in trade rumors. For the better part of two seasons, Smith has received blame for the Hawks not advancing in the playoffs. His frustration with management apparently hasn’t worn off.

‘Smooth’ came into this season 25 lbs lighter and seemingly more mature. Despite having a great season, he was snubbed by coaches for the All-Star team yet again.

According to people I’ve talked to, Josh and his agent feel that he will never get the attention he seeks playing alongside Joe Johnson and for his hometown of Atlanta, GA. They feel that both Smith and the organization need a change.

Too many jumpers, not enough lay-ups. Smith is overrated.
